Scuba diving involves using a gas-filled cylinder to stay underwater for an extended time. Ireland offers excellent diving opportunities, allowing divers to explore the underwater world and make new friends. Its coastline and waters are among the best in Northern Europe and even the world.
Snorkelling is a simple way to discover marine life near coasts. With a mask, snorkel, and basic training, you can explore a range of aquatic creatures in shallow waters. It's an excellent introduction to the marine world.
Underwater hockey, also called Octopush, is a non-contact 3D team sport played in swimming pools globally. It's suitable for all ages and abilities, and it helps to enhance confidence, water skills, and fitness while being low-impact on joints. The game involves pushing a puck using a stick into the goal, and each team has six players wearing basic underwater gear.

That's great that you're interested in joining our diving club! Simply get in touch with us through email sealbaydivers@gmail.com or through one of our social media channels, and we'd be glad to walk you through what's involved. We organise regular scuba diver training each year, where we'll start you off with a try-a-dive session in our local swimming pool. We want to make sure you're comfortable with the sport, and for you to get a feel for what to expect - before diving in too deep!
Annually, we offer scuba diver training for those who are competent swimmers. After passing a try-a-dive session to ensure comfort with the sport, candidates can be considered for membership. We provide about 6 weeks of confined water training in a local pool, followed by open water training. Our training adheres to the international standards and procedures of Diving Ireland and CMAS.
